Happy Birthday
Addis0n turned nine this weekend. She celebrated with a few friends, tea party style. The girls made 'fancy' hats, ate finger sandwiches and sipped hot cocoa from china tea cups. We played a few party games, opened presents and finished off the afternoon with cake - just in time to spoil everyones' dinners. The girls had a lovely time.

Birthday Cake

I made a delicious carrot cake with cream cheese frosting for Mason's birthday. This is a departure from the usual chocolate cake with mounds of fluffy buttercream frosting that I have made for other birthdays. I have some concerns with Mason and food allergies. There are no signs that he actually has any, but his skin is so sensitive that I worry. So I decided, in my strange way, that carrot cake would probably be the safest bet. He liked it. He like the ice cream more. (I guess we're not worried about milk allergies.)

A Visit From Grandma and Grandpa

We were very fortunate to have Grandpa and Grandma Hunter with us this weekend. They flew out from PA to meet baby Mason. We all had a great time, were kept very busy, ate good food and were very sad at how quickly the weekend passed.
On Sunday we made a silly monkey cake for Elias to celebrate his upcoming birthday. (He and Addison wanted the eyeballs more than the cake!) Elias did a great job at blowing out the candles! And when asked, he will tell you that he is two.
